Temsirolimus
For an informed discussion with your doctor or pharmacist. This information collection is not a clinically validated interaction checker. Missing data do not establish safety. Do not change or stop prescribed medicines on the basis of this information. The findings apply to the specific conditions studied; laboratory and animal studies cannot be directly extrapolated to humans.
Active substance: Temsirolimus
Examples of brand names: Torisel [EU/DE]
ATC code: L01EG01
Main use (for orientation): Selected cancers
Documented research summary
Temsirolimus altered selected THC-related memory/motor effects in mice. No clinical pharmacokinetic interaction established; do not equate active sirolimus exposure with temsirolimus.
Uncertainties and limitations
Intravenous Almaject temsirolimus; not oral sirolimus or everolimus. Do not derive cannabinoid pharmacokinetics from their clinical data.
Shared enzymes must not be equated with clinical evidence of an interaction; CBD/THC findings cannot be extrapolated to other cannabinoids.
Separately recorded findings
1 separately recorded finding. Each statement applies to its documented study context.
THC – laboratory and animal studies
Finding ID: B0237
Type of result: Preclinical evidence
Observation: Temsirolimus prevented selected THC memory/anxiety effects and corrected THC-induced motor-coordination impairment in mice.
Mechanism: mTOR/autophagy
Study type: Mouse models
Context studied: Other THC endpoints did not respond; treatment after chronic THC cessation did not reverse the residual deficit.
Clinical interpretation: Context-specific finding, not a recommendation for use
Limitations and uncertainties: No clinical recommendation of a THC antidote or pharmacokinetic AUC prediction.
