Retigabine
For an informed discussion with your doctor or pharmacist. This information collection is not a clinically validated interaction checker. Missing data do not establish safety. Do not change or stop prescribed medicines on the basis of this information. The findings apply to the specific conditions studied; laboratory and animal studies cannot be directly extrapolated to humans.
Active substance: Retigabine
Examples of brand names: Trobalt [EU; historical, authorisation withdrawn on 19 July 2018]
ATC code: N03AX21
Main use (for orientation): Historical: add-on treatment of drug-resistant focal seizures in adults
Documented research summary
Existing open-label CBD observation: no concentration signal in only 4 people treated with retigabine (p=0.5677); very limited evidential value. No verified clinical pair study for the other cannabinoids.
Uncertainties and limitations
Historical product information from 2013; withdrawn in the EU since 2018. EMA access failed with status 429.
Shared enzymes must not be equated with clinical evidence of an interaction; CBD/THC findings cannot be extrapolated to other cannabinoids.
CL20 methods, Table 2 and discussion read in the locally available PMC full text; initial web PMC access encountered a CAPTCHA.

CBD – clinical signals
Finding ID: B0062
Type of result: No / minor effect under the conditions studied
Observation: No concentration signal; p=0.5677.
Mechanism: PK observation
Study type: Observational study: no signal detected
Context studied: n=4.
Clinical interpretation: Not ruled out
Limitations and uncertainties: Context / limitations of CL20; a lack of statistical significance does not establish equivalence.
