Mycophenolate mofetil
For an informed discussion with your doctor or pharmacist. This information collection is not a clinically validated interaction checker. Missing data do not establish safety. Do not change or stop prescribed medicines on the basis of this information. The findings apply to the specific conditions studied; laboratory and animal studies cannot be directly extrapolated to humans.
Active substance: Mycophenolate mofetil
Examples of brand names: CellCept [EU/DE]
ATC code: L04AA06
Main use (for orientation): Transplant medicine
Documented research summary
Regulatory human study: CBD 7.5 mg/kg twice daily increased MPA AUC by 35% and Cmax by 16% after MMF 1500 mg. The larger prediction at 12.5 mg/kg twice daily is a model result, not a measured value. Additional 2024 CBD + CsA + MMF case report without quantifiable information in the abstract.
Uncertainties and limitations
Case-report full text unresolved; activation and MPA inactivation may be affected differently. No class-wide extrapolation.
Separately recorded findings
1 separately recorded finding. Each statement applies to its documented study context.
CBD – clinically studied
Finding ID: B0003
Type of result: Positive finding / indication
Observation: Mycophenolic acid: AUC +35%, Cmax +16%.
Mechanism: UGT1A9 inhibition
Study type: Human pharmacokinetics according to product information
Context studied: CBD 7.5 mg/kg twice daily; MMF 1500 mg once; n not reported.
Clinical interpretation: Potentially high
Limitations and uncertainties: +58% AUC with higher CBD is a prediction, not a measurement.
